Hmmm, it seems you're missing some titles (by a very strange coincidence I've seen 2 of those )...

The Look of Love (2013) - 7/10
Everyday (2012) - 7.5/10
The Killer Inside Me (2010) - 7/10
Genova (2008) - 7/10
A Mighty Heart (2007) - 7/10
The Road to Guantanamo (2006, co-d) - 8/10
In This World (2002) - 8/10
24 Hour Party People (2002) - 7.5/10
The Claim (2000) - 7/10
Wonderland (1999) - 8/10
Welcome to Sarajevo (1997) - 8/10
Jude (1996) - 7.5/10
Butterfly Kiss (1995) - 8/10
Forget About Me (1990) - 8/10

Bonus (doc):
The Shock Doctrine (2009, doc, co-d) - 8/10

Note: 'The Road to Guantanamo' is listed as documentary at IMDb, but it isn't really (the illusion is pretty incredible though). Of course, you couldn't know that without seeing the film.

Sorry about that; editing the OP now.

Interesting. Might as well be my next Winterbottom film.

Good choice. Well, with only 3 seen he proved to be good/interesting enough for me (I have a feeling he can do just about everything, and is also 'brave' enough to actually do it ) so right now I want to see everything he ever made.

And thanks for your EDIT (no need for apologies though, we're here to learn from each other).

Keep up the great work! You have my full (moral) support.

That's the spirit.

I don't know about the rest of them, but "Wonderland" was a piece of crap. I couldn't care less about any of these characters. Perhaps it was because I couldn't understand a freaking word any of them said.

That's a lot of films to rate, and I don't particularly like the notion of marks out of ten, but of the ones I've seen:

The Trip (2010) 6/10
Genova (2008) 7/10
A Mighty Heart (2007) 8/10
The Road to Guantanamo (2006; co-d) 7/10
A Cock and Bull Story (2005) 10/10
9 Songs (2004) 6/10
In This World (2002) 8/10
24 Hour Party People (2002) 10/10
The Claim (2000) 7/10
Wonderland (1999) 10/10
Welcome to Sarajevo (1997) 7/10
Jude (1996) 8/10
Butterfly Kiss (1995) 8/10

Some of the 7's & 8's are probably interchangeable, but I decided not to go into decimals so.....

9 Songs is a really interesting idea, which for me doesn't quite work, and I would have liked "The Claim" better if almost every frame didn't make me think of "McCabe and Mrs Miller". Not a bad film to borrow from, but kind of took me out of the movie.

I thought "The Trip" was a TV series rather than a film?

I used to want to change the world. Now I just want to leave the room with a little dignity.

Thanks for your rates (and comments). That's very helpfull to me (the newbie with Winterbottom).

According to IMDb it's BOTH (feel free to check for yourself). Are they 'cheating' by chance (it wouldn't be the first time )?

BTW,
I don't particularly like the notion of marks out of ten

Does that mean you don't (never did) rate movies at IMDb (their rating 'scale' IS out of 10)? Now that's something new to me.

Other than Wonderland, which I'm watching now, Jude is the only film on this list that I remember seeing.

I give Jude a 10, pretty much on the strength of Eccleston's superb performance, but warn that it does not shy away from the terrible sadness inherent in the story. I thought it was brilliantly done but do not think I could bear to watch it again.

I purchased the DVD of Wonderland recently, and have made two attempts to watch it, only to switch off both times at about the 30 min mark. The epileptic camera-work, the moronic, dreary and barely articulate characters, and the banal script soon extinguished the goodwill I had for the director after "The Killer Inside Me (2010)", "24 Hour Party People (2002)" and "Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story (2005)". All I could think of was how Mike Leigh does it so much better.

Because of my respect for previous reviewers (above) I will retrieve the DVD from my waste-bin and make a third attempt. Probably best to wait a few months first, though. I will report back if I experience a Pauline conversion.
