This movie made me hate Tideland

The effectiveness of this movie's ability to make me view it with a child-like innocence, without knowing anything about this movie beforehand, has caused me to hate Tideland which tried to do the same thing, only it told me to watch it like I was a child with a message from the director at the beginning, and then failed miserably.

I saw Tideland before this, but yeah, Gilliam's film doesn't hold a candle to it. Or The Reflecting Skin or Terrence Malick's first two films, which both homage, especially in the scenes in the cornfield by the house. I really wanted to like Tideland, but it's far too shrill and over-the-top.

Give a thousand monkeys a thousand laptops and they'd all be writing their stupid opinions on IMDB.

Having a fully functioning brain made you hate Tideland (and I'm a big Gilliam fan).

If you like this better than Tideland then you must be a miserable spastic.

Apparently you have lots of company on that one. I have not seen that film, but it got a 6.6 IMDB Rating, and a paltry 29% on Rotten Tomatoes. Sounds like a stinker to me.
