Could someone please help me with the dialogues?

I do not understand 80% of what they say.

This movie was weird, but also funny, precisely because when they opened their mouths, you couldnt help but laugh at how they sounded.

I don't understand why the DVD wouldn't have English subtitles. I saw this film in the theater in NYC & there were subtitles.

Because traditionally, among English-speakers, only Americans are condescending enough to sub-title people speaking English.

If the DVD the original poster was watching was from, oh I don't know, maybe Australia, or England, or New Zealand, it may not have subtitles. Several other posters here have mentioned that there are no subtitles on the version they have. For example, the region 2 copy that I have does not have subtitles.

Why are you insulting that person for asking a valid question? Do you have a chip on your shoulder regarding America and its residents? I have lived in NZ, Australia and the US and by FAR the most level headed, polite and respectful people in my experience have been Americans. It's ppl like you that make me dislike Aussies/NZ'ers and the English. Stop being such a close minded obnoxious dickhead and grow the !@$! up MORON!

I watched this the other night and also had a pretty difficult time with their accent, it seemed to get a bit easier to understand as the movie progressed and I got used to it but I still don't think I took in as much of it as I would have liked. This is definitely on my re-watch list though, I liked it quite a bit.

Interesting. My DVD had subtitles. This was a good thing because I would have missed a lot of the dialog without them.

The Scottish accent is my favorite. I visited Scotland and Glasgow in Fall 2015, and loved listening to their almost lyrical speech patterns.

And this is an amazing film. I give it an 8.6/10.

Ha, I didn't had any subtitles so for the first 30 minutes I honestly thought I was watching some Yugoslavian type movie judging my the language and location.
