So frustrated

Why in all hell is this movie so long? I was nearly screaming in agony by the 1:30:00 mark. I mean, don't get me wrong, I loved the crap out of the first, like, 45 minutes. I was sure it'd turn out to be a favorite movie of mine; I was wrong (unfortunately). Well, it had its moments, even later on in the film, but in general, really just turned to garbage. Besides, I absolutely adore Ed Norton and enjoy Stiller sometimes too, so it's not like I had any bias against any aspect of the film. It just got so BORING. I felt like crying.

Well maybe I am a bit biased. My undying love for Edward Norton might have to do with why I was so frustrated with the movie, considering how things ended up for his character...

Anyway, just thought I'd share my reaction. Any comments or opinions are welcome :)

I completely agree with you, it was so long! Here's what I think:

What I liked:
1. Edward Norton, obviously. I'm in love with him lol
2. Some parts / lines were funny: "i feel like i'm on some new aaron spelling show...melrose priest" and the karaoke scene, for example. Every brian / anna scene was great, and I even liked the earlier scenes showing brian & jake's friendship.
3. Jenna Elfman - first movie I've seen her in, and she was great!

What I hated (which made me give this movie a 6/10):
1. Ben Stiller. He always plays his same, usual, and annoying self.
2. The fact that Brian / Anna didn't get together. I think everyone on this board agrees with me. I felt so much pity for Brian, I wanted to cry.
3. How the movie became so cliche in the last 45 minutes....Jake running to "get the girl"...Brian being ok with the whole thing and the three become best friends again...seriously?
4. It was SO LONG. Romantic comedies should never be this long.
