user rating 6.7 just wondering what anyones gripes were?

not a western fan nor a john cusack fan, but i just watched this for the second time. the first was years ago and i forgot just how great it was. there are no shootouts or any other western *beep* it all feels like it could happen to you if you were as full and dedicated to old fashoned things like principals as myrl.

seeing john goodman as the judge makes you feel like he will sort this out. he does and i guess on the grand scheme of things he does. still sad though.

not a western fan as i have said so i guess this film has been marked down cos it didnt have any standoffs. the most bull part of a western i think. everything felt convincing and as wrong as life is i dont see what problems people had.

i know i really thought this movie deserved more than that, i don't know why anyone wouldn't like it

I just watched it last night for the first time on HBO and was blown away. I came here and rated it a 10. I think this is the first movie I've ever rated a 10! Yours is a good question...I too wonder what caused such a low score for such a great movie. One guess is the ending...a lot of people probably hate that ending but I don't see any other way it could have ended, so no deductions from me there either :)
