I'm gonna have to take a pass on this one.

Well, I was going to watch this, but after I read the plot I decided not to. I'm a fan of the original and it just sounds like they injected some cheap thrills into this one. Luke gets decapitated? Crain comes back from the dead? Souls of dead children floating to Heaven? Really? I'll take a pass...these effects are in numerous movies nowadays, but the original I just can't see being duplicated. I'm good.

I'm also a fan of the book and Shirley Jackson, her stories are very entertaining. Another good story I wish Wise had produced is We Have Always Lived in the Castle. Would have been a good follow-up to the 1963 Haunting.

Look out for We Have Always...out this year with Taissa Farmiga.

More youngsters playing scary house...? Eh.

Save your time. Don't see this movie.

It is a different premise , another set of ghosts - it deals with the abusive past of forced / slave labor , and the heavy legacy left behind, that still haunts the "house" .

In the original, the traumas & the ghosts had another source , as I understand from the reviews left - I haven't seen it though... but I agree, a better script (or better editing?) would have made this movie better.

Yep. I wish I did the same. Sadly, I'm scarred for life

Sorry, oldtimers, we aint in the 60's no mo. Maybe you should invent a time machine and like... head back to when you were young and didn't have a stick up yer a$$ :)

You wouldn't know *beep* if it was on your dinner plate. Also note I watched the original a few years ago, not in the 60s so I'm not an old timer fool.
