While I agree she has done better acting, I think this movie is very underrated. Recommend you see it again, as she plays a very strong character, Liam is fantastic, all the cast were superb, and the story is a light rom-com that delivers reasonably well on all points.
Bathroom humor? I'm assuming you're referring to his Gastro issue. This is a character device that tells the audience when Charlie is afraid. It serves the story, rather than trying to make the audience giggle. In fact, its absolutely necessary, given that Charlie is always putting up a confident front. How else are we supposed to know that Charlie, in that moment, is frightened? His job is to not appear frightened.
This lends to the credibility of Charlie's character. I'm not saying the movie is a marvelous work of art...just a nice, solid 8/10 and a fun way to pass a few hours on a Saturday.
