The end was the only wrong thing

this movie was so cool!!!! until I started to predict how the end was gonna be, both Dorff and Sarandon were great they should have ended together!!!
bad ending!!!

I thought that too,but then it would have been weird hey?I don't knew wether Charlotte was the type of woman who was ever really going to leave her husband. And what about Mindy?

Although the ending FELT disappointing to the romantic rebel in my heart, it seems like it was the only really appropriate thing to have happen. It seems the movie was really about Jake and Charlotte each learning to deal with life and who they are. Time to stop blaming other people and face yourself kind of thing.

I agree. While normally it would seem dissapointing to see the 2 leads not end up together, this really was the only appropiate ending as you say. For one thing, they were just too different.

Yeah like she says she's tried to leave her husband a few times and everytime only got as far as the bank, her husband was a total arse anyway and as for Mindy you know the part where they (charlotte and jake) are putting the top on the jeep and mindys walking off her foot cramps or something like that, jake says something like we could just leave her here, my sentiments exactly I'd have left her on the side of the road myself but thats just me.
My question to you is who would you have chosen Jake or her husband, me i'd have gone with Jake, no contest there but then again I may be a little biased in regards to him since i'm a pretty big Stephen Dorff fan.

God sent us two angel's from the heavens above and called them Wentworth and Jensen

I'd go for Stephen Dorff any day even if he did act like Jake, but that's a whole other story.

I really think it was ended the right way. I couldn't imagine them having a lasting relationship. I think it was an unusual, brief, intense relationship under weird circumstances that was meant to help each of them learn more about themselves, particularly Charlotte. I think Charlotte learns that her life doesn't have to be sad or boring and I imagine that as she moves on with her husband, she's learned to stand up for herself and what she wants. I think she comes back with the courage to actually good-and-forever-gone leave him if she needs/wants to later. Rather than dismissing her husband as a pr ick, I started to imagine what any of my relationships would be like if my partner didn't speak up about what they want/don't want and it would be all too easy for me to railroad them without really noticing that that's what I'm doing, though I couldn't imagine it being in quite the same way.
