Hackneyed PI Movie

I rarely watch PI movies because the plot is always the same. Alcoholic ex-cop with a poorly lit office, hired by a sleaze who almost always turns out to be the bad guy and, consequently, the PI never gets paid but he keeps on trucking to solve the case - pro bono. First time I have seen Michael Rooker in a lead role and as a good guy. He should be more selective about the roles he accepts. Don't often see Brad Dourif but he and Micheal played bad guys in Mississippi Burning. Too many characters in this movie and it was difficult to remember who was who.
I punished myself and watched this drek until the end. I must be a masochist.
