OK, landing..

...perhaps the most critical and delicate phase of a flight and this girl, who may or may not have flown a kite, greases it in?

I understand that some movies require a little suspension of reality, but that's just asking too much.

I could have found it a bit easier to swallow if she had smashed the plane into the runway gear up and walked away from a pile of rubble.

Yeah, it was more than convenient how, with no idea of how to fly the plane let alone land, she just happened to find herself on a perfect final approach to the runway, (i still can't do that in Flight Simulator!) made a gentle three-point contact, and the only thing that strained her little teenage brain was remembering that teensy little detail of how to reverse the thrusters..."was it left-to-right, or right-to-left....which is my left again?" Good thing she didn't have to deal with flaps, and the gear was already down since the air-to-air rescues...speaking of the air-to-air rescue, it sure was a shame that that heavy-duty strap that held the carabiner was so decayed that it almost immediately frayed...the rescue team that hangs around every airport ready to extract passengers from problem planes should take better care of their equipment.

and finally, why can't I get cellphone reception like that?

I kinda wish there was a crossbreeze and she had to come in at an angle. THAT would've been awesome!!
