Can anyone name this comic who did a false magic act?

There was a comic during the 1970s likely appeared on Merv Griffin Show and others, where he would come out and hum this theme while he would do false magic act. He did this bit there he would take a handkerchief while humming this theme, and stuff the handkerchief into his hand, and instead of making it disappear he would pull it out the bottom of the same hand.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have a sick relative who was very fond of this comic and I would love to be able to get a video or clip (if online) to them. If only I knew this comic's name. Thanks!
