johnny sokko movie but its the pilot of the show?

Since its been a long time for me when i first watched this back in the 60s and forgot all about it years later, a friend of mine told me about this show few years back cause he was looking for any info about seeing it online or buying it on dvd. at the time it was no on both questions till now. he told me about 2 new channels that came on the air and one of them was comet tv. for my city we didn't get it til this past jan 2016. i started watching some of it. but the reason i'm here now is because right now on comet tv they are showing the movie about it but its really the pilot for the series. it started saturday at noon ct, april 16. i looked on my tv guide app and found it will be on 3 more times next week. tues and fri at 3 pm ct and thurs at 11 pm ct. its called voyage into space. i had it on commet tv looking at something before it and just stayed there to see what was on next. i saw voyage into space and then saw giant robot which at first was a movie after the show ended. it wasn't. so thought i come here and let everyone know about it and figure its probably been awhile since anyone has seen it and kind of wish they saw it again. well here it is. also can anyone tell me why are the bad guys wearing sunglasses all the time, day and night? when i was watching johnny sokko at 6 am ct today, 4-16, there was this big round thing. but in the movie they are showing this object in the movie. so what i saw at 6 am was part of the movie?

also just in case no one saw about when someone here on the boards was asking about how the guy that played johnny died. i was searching on the net for something regarding about the show and saw this. so thought i would put it here so you can see it if you don't see the one question about how he died. it also shows when he was born.

i did watch the movie and it was not the pilot. i think it was the last installment of the series. so don't forget you have 3 more times to watch it tues and fri at 3 pm ct and thurs at 11 pm ct. i wasn't watching it carefully so one of the showings i will watch cause there was some parts i didn't see. not sure if this is available on dvd. but if you want to find out the movie was called voyage into space made 1968 or 1970. what i can't understand is why is the name of the movie voyage into space when it or the robot doesn't go into space at all? i did find it online free to watch http://www.veoh.com/watch/v837720qxE6JE9N. i did save the link for anyone who wants it. just send me a private message and ask and i will comply

how did you find out ahout all this? i don't remember all the episodes cause i was a kid when it was on. but a friend of mine who is even younger than me saw it to. when he told me comet tv was a new network i didn't know what it was all about. so i went online to see about it. for most states it came out last year. missouri, where i live, we didn't get til this past jan. at the time seeing this network online i found the schedule and found out the show was on sat and sun at 6 am. i called my friend one day and told him that the show he really liked and wanted to see again was on this network. he does get up early at times but not many. but i did i tell him about the movie was on last saturday but didn't answer his phone so i left a voicemail telling him it was on now. but if he didn't watch it told him it was going to be on 3 more days and told him what days and time. hope he sees it. he can't get online cause he doesn't have internet service.

Me too! I remember KTLA used to run the same movie EVERY NIGHT for a week at a time. For me, the week of "Voyage Into Space" in about 1973 was the greatest achievement in the history of broadcast television. I was so pissed the next week, when when they showed "The House on Greenapple Road" instead.

Channel 52 (KBSC-Corona) was awesome - actually went back to the early 70s, at least. I remember watching it in kindergarten, which was 1972 for me. In the days before streaming, before satellite, before Blue Ray/DVD/Laserdisc/VHS/Betamax, even before cable TV, Channel 52 was King!

I absolutely loved Voyage Into Space. I vividly remember tearing up at the end when everyone saluted Giant Robot's sacrifice. I dreamed that I was in Unicorn, that Jerry Mano was my big brother, and that Johnny and U6 were my best friends. I was so happy when they finally released it on DVD - it was really a kick watching my son have the same reactions.
