anybody know how the black dude died?

I think Roy died of a drug overdose. In the podcast, Emily Bindiger said he was "a victim of the era", whatever that means. I seem to remember it was an overdose, but it could have been cancer too.

Victim of the 80s? Drugs? Aids? Maybe cancer? Though any are possibilities.

Ray Stephens AKA Roy from TGSC was a very talented person/entertainer- May he always rest in peace in eternal life in heaven! He was also a member of The Group, The Village People in the mid 1980's!

He was part of a group that was similar to The Village People? Hmm, guess I know how he died at such a young age. Some guy dropped some bad gnu in his butthole.

That's right, floridianitalian. Ray sang lead vocals for the ninth and final Village People album from 1985: "Sex Over the Phone".

Isn't it a coincidence that "Sex Over the Phone" was made during the 5th and final season of the Great Space Coaster?

Drug addiction.

Not everyone in the Village People band were gay, and Roy was hired in 1985, which was toward the end of that group in general.

If people think he's gay, I wish they'd provide some proof - instead of the inane innuendo...

And if he was gay, so what... are people afraid that one gay person walking around might turn 'em gay too? :rolleyes:
