I know there are places online where you can petition - how effectively, I have no idea - for your favorite shows to be released on DVD, but I wouldn't know where to start looking for 'The Great Space Coaster.' Considering all the genuine crap that are getting full-series releases on DVD, it's almost criminal that an intelligent show like this has been left out.
shareI believe Sony bought the rights to Sunbow Productions, The Company that owned the rights to The Great Space Coaster. Sunbow Productions went ou of business in the early 1990's I believe. I agree with you 100%. The Great Space Coaster was a Wonderful Children's Show and All 7 Seasons of it should be sold on DVD from when the show aired from 1981 to 1986. The only copy of The Show available is The Great Space Coaster Supershow which was released in 1983 and it had 3 different episodes and Mark Hamill and Valerie Harper as Guest Stars.But more episodes should be sold in stores if the show can't come back to Rerun Syndication.Episode s that had Guest Stars as Sally Struthers, "Mary" Kathleen Turner, Bess Armstrong of "Jaws 3", Aileen Quinn A.K.A. I mainly remember the puppet/costume characters (Like Edison, with his rheumatism, Goriddle, bragging about his big brother Gargantua, of course Gary Gnu, M.T. Promises, the evil ringmaster, and Baxter - well, I never cared much for Baxter, but who's counting?) and, my favorite, that little pocket TV. I loved the line-animation drawings they showed on those segments. I remember rocking with laughter in front of the television, watching the little line-man go through his adventures.

Do you remember when Gary Gnu had The Beautiful Actress "Mary" Kathleen Turner on "The No Gnus is Good Gnus Show" and Gary's Crew was throwing things at him. Kathleen Turner yellled at them. Great hells, ace...all of that detail, only from memory? I already told you the bulk of what I remember from the show - I wouldn't even be able to name the principals, without your help. That's just amazing. Your amazing recollections just make me want the series on DVD all the more, so I can re-live the moments that you remember and that I've obviously forgotten.

When Goriddle couldn't reach Bananaman on the phone, he decide to dress up like a leaf like creature for the concert. When he got to the concert and they realized it was really him, Knock Knock The Bird and Edison Elephant got very mad. Frannie, Danny, and Roy watched, laughing from the distance, as Edison and Knock Knock pulled off Goriddle's leaves as a punishment for lying one by one.Goriddle went, "Oww, oww, oww!" Do you remember Frannie putting Her Hand on Goriddle's Tummy a lot to be affectionate? I also remember Goriddle making himself lots of Banana Splits in The Coaster Kitchen and getting tummy aches from eating too many of them.How many years did you watch this show? Try to Cooperate with Gary's Play. If you directed a play, we'd listen to you." Knock Knock said,"If you don't do your part of opening the door man good, I'll slam you!"Knock Knock laughed in a Daffy Way.Goriddle then took the script home to look over in his mouth.Goriddle went along with his part in the play, but then he started harassing Knock Knock as the main scene went on.Frannie, Danny, and Roy came in the middle of the disrupted scene and all 3 of them tied Goriddle up with Rope! Frannie, The Brunette ,was The Female Lead, The Red Haired Guy's Name was Danny, who played The Drums in TGSC Band.His real name is Chris Gifford and He's The Creator/Executive Producer of Nick Jr.'s "Dora The Explorer" today.Chris Gifford is an Educator. The african-american guy was Roy and he was played by Ray Stephens.Roy used to show La Linea, Really Rosie, and many other cartoons on his synthesizer/movie making machine.Roy also played the electric piano in TGSC Band.Can you remember anything at all about Frannie? She had an Amazing Singing Voice!Emily Bindiger who played Frannie in real life is a Professional Acapella New York Singer and She performs with an Acapella Group called "The Accidentals." Do you remember the episode where Goriddle bought a dirt bike and it polluted the air and it bothered everyone in Coasterville? Goriddle then got into an accident because of the fumes and then he was hurt.Then the cast was able to teach him the error of his ways.Another Human on TGSC was Speedreader played by Actor "Ken Myles" and he used to appear on "The No Gnus Is Good Gnus Show" and do Book Reviews for Gary Gnu.Speedreader used to do handstands and read really fast while turning the pages of any book. Do you remember Baxter The Clown, performing in TGSC Band playing his Baxophone with Fran, Danny, and Roy. Baxter used to take care of Four Furball Creatures he found in Outer Space called The Huggles, Fluffy, Puffy,Scruffy, and Baby Huggle.Frannie used to Play with The Huggles too.How Pretty would you say Singer Emily Bindiger AKA "Frannie" was? She was the whole show in my opinion!

I was just at the age the show was aimed at, when it first showed up on KC television - in fact, it was one of the first network shows to air on TV 62, now KCSC. I can remember spots of the shows, and some good cartoons - what oddly stands out is when M.T. Promises hired Baxter for his circus, but hardly paid him.
I haven't seen the cast since the first airing of the show, so I couldn't say if Franny was pretty - I do remember the cast singing 'Up, Up and Away In My Beautiful Balloon', though.

His name is "Jim Martin" and he also performed Gary Gnu, he did Edison The Elephant from 1983 to 1986,and Baffle, The Caterpillar Magician, from The Planet Blimp.He hardly remembers any of the show because it was so long ago. I keep telling you, I only remember little bits and pieces. I do remember Goriddle having a crush on an actress - if you say it was Sally Struthers, that's good enough for me.
Honestly, I used to watch this show every afternoon - it was one of the first kids' shows offered on our 'new' channel in Kansas City (at that time), TV 62 (UHF). And I watched it regularly, but I can't dredge up a fifteenth of the details you remember. I won't be able to match your recollections until we succeed in getting this show on DVD.
I know its hard to remember TGSC because it was such a long time ago. Who did Goriddle say to that he had a Crush on Sally Struthers? I believe it was the rest of TGSC Cast. Could it have been "Linda Gray" A.K.A. "Sue Ellen Ewing" of "Dallas" or "Mary" Kathleen Turner - The Actress he had a Crush on instead? I remember Goriddle Gorilla telling Female Guest Star "Sally Struthers" He Loved Her and She kindly held him by the chin with Her Hand. I also remember The Cast Singing "Lets Write A Song"at The Coasterville Ampitheater and Goriddle introduced The Female Guest Star as She Played Her Face.Was that "Kathleen Turner?" I know you only remember bits and pieces of TGSC, but do you remember Fran Tickling Goriddle on The Tummy? She used to wear a Gold Ring on Her Ring Finger- Singer "Emily Bindiger" A.K.A. "Frannie". I think it may have been "Linda Gray". She asked them,"Why are you hiding?" If you look on TGSC Homepage Guest Star Section, The Huggles had one scene with Actress "Aileen Quinn" A.K.A. "Annie". "Little Redhead Annie" was about 14 Years Old here in 1985 and She had Long Brown Braids! She Sang to The Huggles her song from "Annie", "Tomorrow". I also remember Actor "Henry Winkler" A.K.A. "The Fonz" from "Happy Days" meeting Goriddle Gorilla in a live footage segment around 1983.Do you remember Composer "Marvin Hamlisch" being on TGSC? His Picture is on TGSC Homepage Guest Star Section also playing the piano in front of Goriddle. What do you remember about Gary Gnu? I remember before "The No Gnus Is Good Gnus Show" would start, they would show all different pictures of things on a screen. Goriddle Gorilla or Knock Knock would say,"And now for something really Gnu, here's Gary Gnu!" Then the big screen would disappear while making sounds in the background.Do you remember The-Anti Gravity Day Episode in which everything in Coasterville went up into the sky. The cast joked that light things like Goriddle would go up into the sky too. So Baxter put his hands on Goriddle and Goriddle said,"Now don't hold me down too tight!" Knock Knock's Pie flew up. Roy said,"That's one pie in the sky!" Then later on Frannie's Guitar went up into the air, so Knock Knock flew up like as speeding bullet to bring it back. Goriddle said Sarcastically,"That 's Great Knock Knock. How about going up into the air to bring back My Flying Bananas?" Knock Knock Annoyed said,"I've got a better idea, Goriddle. How about I bring you up into the sky to be with Your Flying Bananas?" Goriddle protested as Knock Knock took him by the arm. In the distance, Frannie Yelled,"See You Later, Goriddle!" Another time Goriddle decide to do a talk show and Roy and Knock Knock were his guests. Roy kept falling asleep, so Goriddle Sarcastcally called him "Sleeping Beauty." Both Knock and Roy got Angry at Goriddle for mistreating them, so they both walked off his talk show. Goriddle then had no one to talk to, so he talked to himself! Do you remember Goriddle's Sarcastic Comments? I also remember the time Goriddle told Baxter The Coaster Car was a piece of junk. This was while "Mark Hamill" A.K.A. "Luke Skywalker" of "Star Wars" was present as a Guest Star.He was on TGSC in 5 Episodes. Baxter told Goriddle he couldn't go with him and Mark for a Coaster Ride because he insulted The Coaster Car.
