Does anyone know if this will be released in DVD soon ?

Won't be happening - much of the more important footage used in some episodes (especially those dealing with the Afghan-Soviet conflict) was reclassified by the American government following 9/11. A DVD release would have to involve major re-editing of key episodes and, given the exhaustive nature of the series, this is something the makers would probably find unnacceptable.

Oh well...

I would love a DVD release of this. I still have my VHS version that I asked for for Christmas when I was 14 (I was a dorky kid, lol). Unfortunately I no longer have a VHS player, so I can't watch it :/ I'd love to see this again though, as it really is fantastic.

Any chance of a UK DVD release? The BBC are showing new shows about the Cold War at the moment.
