So wanted to watch this show when it first aired...

but the Saturday morning cartoon era was already beginning its decline, and I missed out. What happened is CBS had it scheduled for 1PM (perhaps noon, but I think it was 1PM) but the local CBS affiliate which otherwise carried the whole CBS Saturday morning lineup, switched over to their own programming at 1PM. I was so bummed because that was back in the day when the networks actually had new season preview shows (for Saturday morning cartoons!) and the show sounded so cool.

Oh, to have seen it in the day. That was the era.
