can someone just tell me the main points?
I think its learn basic training
get balls shocked ( or another movie nvm i said that)
and have own teammate shoot you
I think the movie might be useful for those thinking of getting in the army.
shareThe main point is that things like war and fear bring out the best in some, and the worst in others. It also has a lot to do with brotherhood and camaraderie, being a decent human being, and helping those you know can't help themselves.
shareIn its historical context it's all about what a disaster old-fashioned brutal Army training can be when the recruits are demoralized about what they're getting into. It was 1971; I was just a little younger than these guys then. We knew the war was lost, we knew that much of the country was not in favor of it, and we knew that it was a horrifying experience with an objective that most of us could no longer see. That atmosphere doesn't exactly lead to the kind of esprit de corps needed for a successful military.
sharei just still can't believe this film was made by joel schumacher.when i saw his name in credit as director,i was almost losing my mood to rent this film at my dvd store.You know guys..he's pretty popular to make "a suck-wasted" films and ruin a great scripts.. but,surprise..surprise..
