Episode One?

I wonder this is called "Episode One". I think the movie is finished with the shown end, so I don't expect a sequel.
So why did they call this "Episode One"?

reply

Because there is a sequel to this movie and it was released in Japan sometime ago. It's called SF: Stereo Future. It was supposed to be a trilogy, but I think the sequel didn't make it in the box office. So there you go =)

reply

well, here in imdb it says that stereo future is a comedy/romance movie and the description doesnt fit with samurai fiction either so i dont know why you said that it was a sequel, where did you get that info? or perhaps imdb is wrong, but is more likely that you are, anyway i would like to know
yeah

reply

He isn't wrong, SF is a series of the director.

The first is SF one: Samurai Fiction

then the second is Stero future (in the beginning of the film it says: episode 2002

They fit, as they have the same acting troop the second time around and they are making a samurai flick. It's just a subjective look at the first oen and a fresh look for the sequel. I don't know if he plans to make anymore in the series, but I'm sure he will.

there is a third film in the genre, but im not sure it is linked to the other two. It's called Red Shadow. ::shrugs:: but there you go.

"Red Shadow" means Akakage in japanese - That's the name of the ninja girl from this movie.

The IMDB entry reads even more as if they are related, and in the biographies section of my DVD I also found a connection, so this really may be another episode.

reply

Akakage isn't a girl!

Are you talking about tha horrendous Red Shadow movie with Masanobu Ando? That movie made me cry, it was so terrible...

How troublesome...

reply
