It completely misses the point of the story and instead tries to pad out it's running time with Jim Carrey mugging for the camera and making stupid jokes that feel completely out of place. It doesn't feel anything like what an adaptation of The Grinch should be. The Illumination version was bad too, but at least it got the jist of what the actual message of the story was about. This was just an all around awful version and I'm not sure why anyone still considers it to be a classic. Even worse tan the live action The Cat in the Hat.

I beg to differ. The live action Cat movie is still ten times worse. Yes, the live action Grinch isn't perfect and it had problems, but at the very least it tried to respect the source material way better than what that garbage Cat did.

THe live action Cat in the Hate can at least be enjoyed in a so bad it's good kind of way. That movie is just so bizarre it's amazing

Yes, the Cat movie is so bad it's good, but it's a fact that the producers of that garbage had no passion and boy did it show.

It drives me mad that this movie is so beloved now. I found it somewhat amusing when I first saw it but 20 years later I hate it so much. Lame jokes, an overbloated story, and Jim Carrey is more obnoxious than funny. Also the Whos of Whoville seem overly obsessed with the Mass consumerism of Christmas.

yes. i think this is horrible film. horrible script. no storys. ron howard is good director but good director cannot save shit script and story.

jim carrey is overrate. he is just so annoy in this film. unwatchable!

this shit film is so shit it annoy me. waste of opportunity.

yes agreed. i watch this film again over christmas and it shit last time i watch and shit again.

this is example of film that spend so much time and effort on way the film look - sets, costume, make up etc. then when they start film they realize that they dont have a story!!

there is not plot to this film. it is one of worst christmas films ever!! shit film.
