Rebirth?
is rebirth a continuation or is it just like death?
shareAltough Death & Rebirth are all right by me, some people might not apreciate it completely since Death is kind of a begingers introduction to evangelion (as a substitute to the series or as an overview) and the Rebirth part altough a continuation of the series there's nothing you won't see on The End Of Evangelion, son it's not really necesary to haver/see death & rebirth, unless you don't know anything about the end of evangelion, then the ending of "rebirth" works as a really great cliffhanger, while on the end of evangelion is just a short pause.
shareI think Rebirth is meant to be the first half of end of evangelion. I have to say I still enjoyed the death part even if it was just a recap; I thought the use of classical music throughout it added to the mood.

Yeah, it's no substitute for watching the series, but it's interestingly arranged, and there are a few unique touches that make it cool. Actually, I like the DVD most for the commentary that is continued on the End of Evangelion DVD. It's essentially a two part commentary track over both movies, and it's both entertaining and interesting.
