No, it's not. If you look at a side-by-side comparison of the Batman from Batman: The Animated Series and the Batman from The New Adventures of Batman, they are completely different. The newer Batman is drawn more angular than the older Batman.

Okay, fine. It's the same Bruce Wayne/Batman with a different character design and costume. He is still the same character, though.

BATMAN: Do me a favor and lose the sense of humor.
SUPERMAN: Do us both a favor and buy one.

Yes, if you want to talk characterization, it's the same Bruce Wayne. I figured saahilnair meant that he was drawn the same way, though. I'm sorry. I didn't think he was being so literal. You don't have to bite my head off, Otaku-sempai.

reply

well of course it's the same damn bruce wayne/batman

is there another freakin batman?

all batmans are bruce wayne (when it comes to the animated ones)

so when he says that he likes one batman over the other, he clearly means he likes the "character design" of one batman over the other

dumbass

The New Batman Adventures was basically a sequel series of Batman: TAS. It was the same continuity, they just decided to change the design of everything...I do prefer the original design, but it's still the same show. The storyline then continued to Batman Beyond.

The only design I hated was the Joker's. I hate those big round black eyes. They look like marbles. He has no red lips either.

reply

yeah the joker redesign was terrible...even as a kid i couldnt stand it

reply

Yeah the Joker looks like a toy doll, I'm glad they changed his appearance again in the flashback in Return Of The Joker

I get you. The TNBA version of Batman/Bruce is supposed to be colder, darker, less emotional yet than the previous BTAS version. I love Batman but in this movie he comes off as conceited and ballsy, for no apparent reason. Ex., throwing Superman off of him when he was just trying to say, "Ok that's enough." Then when Superman saves him and Lois, once they land Batman slaps Superman's hand away and when Superman says "Thank you for helping, I couldn't have saved Lois without you,", Batman replies, "I'm aware of that." No humility at all...damn! He also acts like a dick to him as Bruce, in front of Lois. I guess it really is a rivalry/competitive thing then, since Lois was in the picture...*shrugs*

Yea it did look like some cold blooded snubs, BUT the dialogue Between Bruce & Lois when he snubs Clark & help her pick up everything was great.

Also, during the Judo throw, there is enough commotion that he slaps the "Bat-Bug" TM 2014 on Superman. With Supes "super senses" how else cold he have done it. Darts & blowguns make too much noise.

Bruce was kind of cold but the interactions with Lois are some of the best parts of the movie, for me anyway.

I actually liked the TNBA design and characterization....Bruce got a tiny bit darker since Dick Grayson left of course. The whole streamlining was necessary in order to fit well with the updated animation style of Superman - but that goes without saying really.

Anyway speaking of TAS Bruce - it would have been great if Conroy kept his B:TAS Bruce Wayne voice - but his regular voice that he uses is pretty awesome. It's still noticeably different to the Batman voice he puts on.

This life is a preparation for heaven, hell....or both.

Yeah I noticed that too. It was more dynamic and interesting in BTAS when he had a "Bruce" voice (his disguise) and his "Batman" voice (his true persona). In TNBA his voice is ALWAYS Batman, which I thought was less interesting and weird at the same time (why would he not wanna disguise his voice more?). I love the example here in this video review (at 15:18): https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=nj4wMS5x Q18#t=918
