So, pretty good? Na. it was bloody brilliant.

I just purchased this dvd two days ago. I watched all 6 episodes in one sitting. I was hooked after the first episode and was very disappointed to know that there were no more seasons for this show. Idris Elba and Sussanah Harker made the show intriguing to watch.

This show was amazing, perhaps it was good they did'nt make anymore since as it stands its great, it has nothing bringing it down. A film of course would have been possible and could probably be made and retain all of what made the series so appealing.

Yeah, I totally agree that the show was bloody brilliant/fantastic/amazing! The actors were great, and the storyline was superb. I, too, was hooked from start to finish. Ultraviolet is for sure in my top five of the best miniseries ever made.

I also greatly enjoyed it. Especially the last episode.

radio dispatch, do you know who this is?
Nah, who is this is?

If I remember right, it was on telly on a Thursday at around 11:00PM. Given the time frame, it never had a chance.

It's an extremely interestingly written show... ive never seen anything like it. The whole idea and concept of the show was taken out of context and to a whole new dimension. You could watch a whole episode and not realise you were watching a show about 'Vampires' as, not only is the word 'Vampire' never mentioned but the dark subject matter was so subtley carried out you may aswell hae been watching Last of the Summer Wine... but that's not to say that the show isn't any good. It was beautifully directed, and the dark, claustrophobic atomsphere becomes so intense it makes compelling viewing. But all in all, a truly great show.

Pretty good..?! It was wonderful..! Dark, stylish, well-written, well-acted... How many years ago was it on tele..? Yet it's still quite vivid in my mind... I really must see about getting hold of the DVDs.

I just got done taming a wild honeymoon stallion for you guys.

I admit, I watched this solely because of the prescense of Philip Quast...he is truly amazing! Unfortunately, I didn't get to watch the whole thing. They showed a few eps on the Sci-Fi channel here in the U.S. but there wasn't a lot of regularity to the schedule so I missed a lot. But from what I saw, it was excellent and as an aside, the theme music was beautiful.

Possibly one of the best things on TV at the time... Think it was actually on on a Sunday night about 9pm when it was first shown - possibly a bit controversial due to the subject matter... Amazing writing tackling some pretty extreme issues and a cast that look like they were designed to play the parts. For me Philip Quast and Susannah Harker really stood out in the casting, but all, including the guest cast, were excellent. Highly reccommended to anyone who likes top notch drama - with a supernatural twist!

Revisiting this series after a long time and hasn't really aged, still very stylish with Harker and Quast standout.

I guess for me even more intriguing now as its showcases the early work Davenport, Moyer and Elba who went onto bigger things

reply

Wow, 12 years after you posted this...Loved it as well, was a fresh interesting take on a very worn cliche.

Yeah, it has dated well, with a paranoid and claustophobic feel to everything. And on hindsight it makes sense that the vampires were making their aggressive moves in 1998 on the cusp of the digital revolution and universal surveillance really exploding, with things becoming really untenable for vampires (when they would turn up invisible on smartphone cameras). Their plan to exterminate humanity through nuclear winter seemed too circumstancial though and maybe the human agents killing vampires with ever more evolved technology forced the hands of more powerful vampires.
