did they close the series in the last episode?

thinking of getting this series..... but since it only has one season i would like to know if the movie has a end to it or not ?

It does wrap up some of the story lines throughout the series but it doesn’t completely close off the possibility of going on.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

The writer - Joe Ahearne - has said that although he left the series open for further stories he basically 'burnt out' the whole premise of Ultraviolet in the six episodes that were aired. By the climax on the bridge in episode 6 we know what the true picture is (the Code 5's don't want peace, they want to exterminate Humankind after engineering a nuclear winter) and we finally know how they regenerate. In short, he feels that there isn't really anywhere else to take the series without it becoming another 'monster of the week' series (my words and interpretation).

There's an interview with Joe Ahearne at www.world-productions.com/wp/content/shows/other/uv/uvhome.htm that addresses a lot of these things.

Cheers,

Well I really have to respect them in that case. Not many shows know when to stop. And come to think of it, he's right. While the problems might not have all been solved, the questions that drove the show were answered in the end. Reading the writer's comments makes me appreicate the show even more.

Yes I agree. I think that (using a previous comment earlier that he didn't want it to become a whose the monster this week type of show) that he was marred by Buffy the Vampire Slayer which as we all know became a who is the monster this week type of show. A shame, but at least he knew to quit when the going was good.

I think it should have gone on for a second season, showing the rise of the vampires and the battle for London...
