Only the very recent episodes or guests have been kind of tame or lame or not as interesting, but I loved Dustin Hoffman, that was a special one, they pretty much went through all of his great films and he was so emotional and open.
Martin Sheen was a great, great guest. Such warm personality, then you go on and watch his films like Apocalypse Now or The Dead Zone, it's pretty unreal.
Jeremy Irons and Gabriel Byrne were very interesting, and funny. Not Robin Williams funny but funny in their own right.
Jeff Bridges, Benicio Del Toro, Al Pacino, Kevin Spacey, these are mostly the guests I've seen, and I've loved them all.
Dave Chapelle is my favorite. I was never interested in him until I saw him on the show. I can't get over how smart the man is, so insightful. I wish I could see Martin Sheen's episode, is there any way I can watch it?
3) Billy Joel - I loved hearing his description of how and why he wrote those songs, then to hear him play them was great.
2) Steven Spielberg - I could listen to that man talk forever!
1) Mike Meyers - Didn't he and James have incredible chemistry? They were terrific, and Mike was hilarious. I'm not a big fan of Mike, but that night he made me laugh like he never had before.
