Who else on here did not like Jenny's Mom??

I thought Jenny's mom was very selfish throughout the movie until the end. Jenny told Harrison that her mom never had time for her and that her mom's boyfriend didn't have time for her, nor did her even like kids. So why was the mom going out with him?? That's very selfish. She also did not tell Harrison about his daughter all because of money. I never felt sorry for the mom when Harrison took her to court for custody, but I was sorry that he did not get custody. I guess in the end the mom turned out ok when she gave custody to Harrison, but still, what was her problem when she slapped Jenny. Was she afraid of losing Jenny to Harrison??

She's really selfish she only really has Jenny when it suits her and then takes her back as soon as she decides its convienent whereas Brian at least coped with Jenny better.

I didn't like her especially near the end when the girl's dad came on TV and her mother told her to stop talking to him because she thought she was speaking to him on the Internet. I was like: "Oh shut up"...

"Hey did you just take his wallet? He just took that guy's wallet!I think he took his wallet."

I agree with all of you Jenny's mom did not seem to care much for her (or possibly cared for her in a way that was very twisted way). Lets face it Jenny thought Harrison would take care of her better than her mom before either of them new they were related, also a number of characters thought they were a father and a daughter because of how they acted around each other. Jenny's mom even if she did not want child support it seems unethical to not let either Jenny or Harrison know about the connection between them and she did not want the either of them to be able to visit each other under any circumstances. The mom also seem to not want Jenny and Harrison to stay around each other for any rational reason. I do not understand why the judge gave custody to the mom seeing how Jenny's letter clearly said stated stated she thought she would be better off with her dad and both parents according to the judge were both equally capable of supporting Jenny.
If you do not agree me fine but do not criticize me or anything I have written. Also if you don't understand something I have written ask me and I will explain it. Finally I am sorry if any this wordy or unusually divided I have always a hard time with things like that.

I hated Jenny's mom,I almost wanted to jump through the tv and slap the hell out of her and tell her to let Harrison have Jenny.

I did not like Jenny's mom. The problem with her was she put herself over her daughter. First by not telling Harrison he had a daughter ( he found out with the passport application), then by putting her career over her daughter ( especially the decision to move to Canada). Of course, at the end she realized that Jenny would be better off with Harrison. There is also the "Need Factor." Jenny needs someone who will give her time and unconditional love and Harrison needed and still needs her for his inspiration for Mr. Dodo. The last book is 'Mr. Dodo meets Jenny." Because of her he is able to not only become more successful at writing children's books then detective novels but gets Yasmine Bleeth as well as Jenny to love. Of course, when Jenny's mom brings her back to Harrison he does say "You can stop by anytime to see her." So she will not be shut out of Jenny's life.
