I loved it. the soundtrack was cool.

I was never bored. The camerawork and editing was interesting. The soundtrack was really nifty and the lead character was fun to watch.

I loved this movie also! It was so different from the usual, and it really stood out. I'm not saying it was a masterpiece, but it made for a great artsy/indie film. :D

OK,

By interesting, are you referring to how bad it was? The camera work was beyond terrible, in fact, I am guessing that they were using analog film technology, and then later converting it to digital. The soundtrack was good, but not always aligned with what was going on with the film.

I found nothing redeeming about this low budget, poorly prepared film. Just because you don't have a lot of money to make your movie doesn't mean you need to make it crappy. The print was grainy, under lit, or over lit, the camera angles were amateur, but not in the positive sense.

Honestly, this could easily have been made by a bunch of high school film buffs, with their parent’s equipment. That's how it came across to me.

Also, the main character was not believable. He was not a bad-ass, he was like this lost little quasi-pretty good for nothing brat, pretending to be just out of Juvenile Hall.

Badly filmed, badly acted, because there was no viable dialogue, I can't even say badly written, because I am not sure there was a script or screenplay.

I cannot stress enough, I love small films that are well done, this was just a pretend small film. A piece of crap, masquerading as an independent film, and personally that kind of thing makes me angry. It takes away from the real creative artwork that so many young writers, producers and directors are creating. This film created a void, a black hole, that sucked a certain amount of life out of small, independent film. There should be some monetary penalty for producing such dreck. Maybe they fine each key person related to the film $100,000 for being involved, and then next time, they will think twice about denigrating the independent film world.

The people involved in this film should post a public Moushiwake.

Film is a cornerstone of any good life.

Well it's all just opinion there Christopher. I caught it at about 25% from the end was loving every minute of it. And who said the guy had to be , "bad ass" to be a believable character. He seemed to me like any other kid that age - easily distracted and clueless. And, "badly acted"? See Edge Edgerton's role. I thought everyone did fine and seemed real.
Go back to your mainstream *beep* if you can't handle something a little different. When you've seen it all, sometimes imperfections in lighting and strange camera angles make it fresh and ultimatley better if it keeps your interest.

I am standing in my bedroom applauding for what you just said

reply

No, it actually did suck.

I just watched the film and came to imdb to see if perhaps my opinion that this movie was drivel was the only negative opinion out there. SO, I am happy to find your eloquent opinion on the boards. Thank you for taking the time to post.
