The credits for music cited "Fat Mama and the Trans World Orchestra"... maybe this will help.

I just bought the dvd and the xtra features has a soundtrack section where you can listen to pretty much all the music from the movie EXCEPT, of course, the one I was looking for. The calypso-type music at the end of the movie when Ryan is in the plane. Since Trans came out 10 years ago I doubt itunes would have it so PLEASE if anyone out there can give me some info on the song and/or how to get it. I thought that particular score made the movie more haunting for me.

Monsters...monsters from the ID!!!

The song is called "Peace" and is performed in the opening credits by Lonnie Liston Smith and the Cosmic Echoes. Vocals are performed by Donald Smith. It can be found on their album, "Expansions" which can be bought from amazon.com for around $6.

The same song is played during the end credits; this time performed by Horace Silver (who I believe) composed it. The vocals on that track are performed by a man named Andy Bey whose "Shades of Bey" album I HIGHLY recommend. That version is on the Horace Silver album "The United States of Mind" which is unfortunately out-of-print on CD, but you can download the mp3's, again from amazon.com.

Hope this helps....I know how frustrating it can be looking for a song and not being able to find it!

The music that is played in the plane is a song called "Theme" by Cibo Matto. The section that is played in the film starts at about 5:10 into the song. The first part of the track sounds nothing like the part played in the film.
