Can i take my kids to watch?

My kids are not big into movies with subtitles, mainly b/c they are young enough they don't read fast (or at all in one case).

Is Lagaan suitable for them? Mainly, is most of the movie in English, or in Hindi with subtitles.

Thanks!

Most of the film is in Hindi with English subtitles. My little sister does enjoy watching Lagaan, though I think she does not understand it fully.

Since the last hour of this movie is a cricket match, you won't need subtitles to understand it.
For the first half,if you just read a small summary of the film and then watch,it will be fine.
And for the songs(good number of them),just watch the dances instead of reading the subtitles.
Cheers!

Oh, hell, yes! It's a wonderful film.

There is a lot of English dialogue in it, so it's not all subtitled.

I was really sad that this movie didn't win the Oscar for Best Foreign Film cause I really think it deserved it. It would be India's 1st Oscar win but sadly, it didn't.

Ah well. Maybe next time ;)

Its in hindi but its not formal hindi, most of the villagers dialogues are in a local dialect, and many words will be difficult for your kids to understand, especially if your kids dont speak hindi/urdu as the primary language. But i guess they will still enjoy the movie, especially if they like cricket.
