Show me Love (F ucking Åmål) , a beautiful Swedish films about two teenage girls fallling in love.

If these walls could talk 2. A film in three episodes about lesbian love in history and in the near future. I sounds corny but it's good.

Foxfire. On female friendship and love.

Hope you enjoy them!

reply

Foxfire is so not a lesbian movie. I don't even see subtext, really. Just a confused young woman.

L&D, Gia and BiaC are totally awesome. Personally I also love Bound.

I just saw a few lesbian flicks this week. I finally watched It's In The Water, which is cute but not overly special. I saw All Over Me, which was different then I expected and largely unremarkable except for the wonderful Leisha Hailey. I saw Monster, which I'm really mixed on. Then I saw BTC and this movie called Butterfly Kiss. If anyone ever offers to show you the latter, run away. And never speak to them again. Damn, it was bad.

I'm not a huge fan of Show Me Love, and I don't really know why. I think the characters were too young for my taste. I'm only 18, but it still seemed much too juvenile to me. I don't know.

ITWCT2 is really good. The first segment is immensely powerful, the second is cute and the third is hilarious.

wow... i didn't realise 'if these walls could talk' (the first one) was even a lesbian movie... could you tell me a bit more about it. xx

Ok, well folks.. Gia, Bound, Mulholland Drive, Better than chocolate, Chasing Amy, Lost and delirious and But i'm a cheerleader are some really good lesbian-themed movies. Have any one seen The L Word series on Showtime? It's a really good show about a bunch of lesbians with a lot of good sex scenes. It's awesome n I can't wait until it comes out on DVD in november.

Here's a link to a website that has great reviews of a ton of lesbian flicks...unfortunately they seem to have left out some Canadian gems like Lost and Delirious!

Lianna, High Art, Shelter Island, Desert Hearts and Claire Of The Moon. The L Word, a Canadian production is available now on eBay. Tipping The Velvet is on a BBC DVD. There are also a number of 70s and 80s schlock horror films including: Vampyres, Blood Thirsty, Female Vampire and the truly awful Caress Of The Vampire

I think everyone has covered all the lesbian movies i've seen and own. They are all amazing movies. I think if you're looking for the strong emotion like in "Better Than Chocolate"...you should look to "Lost and Delirious". It's so emotional...i bought it when i had a girlfriend....but I haven't watched it in about 2 years, because little did i know...the terrible thing that happened in the movie...a very similar thing happened to me...my girl did the Tori thing cuz of her parents, and i became Paulie. So i dont have the strength to watch it anymore, because of the personal connection...i know this is an old topic...but anyone reading this should really see all of those movies listed...and if you can handle the emotions in Lost and Delirious...you should deffinatly check it out.

A great list to be sure and great link but hust to add a couple:

BOYS ON THE SIDE- It has Whoopi Goldburg, Drew Baryymore, and Mary-Luoise Parker. An interset group of actress who you proably wouldn't think of together but who have a great dynamic. Anyway the movie is not an explictly lesbian movie but two of the characters do fall in love. Mainly it's about the bond between women. and the road less traveled.

BOYS DON'T CRY- This film does contian violance and is kinda heavy for a girls night out movie. It also is not a typical lesbian movie, being that it is mainly about a girl with transgender issues. But it's a good movie and worth seeing.

CYOATE UGLY- Is not a lesbian movie but it is great eye candy. MMMMMMMM

THE SEX MONSTER- This cheesy movie is about a man who encourages his wife to explore her lebian tendices in the bedroom but once the threesome is over she can't get enough lez sex and is soon seducing every woman she knows. Its kinda cheesy and not extremely funny but i felt it was worth a mention.

My favorite is When Night is Falling. A bit quirky perhaps, but still wonderful

Antonia's Line, The Fox, The Incredibly True Adventures of Two Girls in Love, Everything Relative and Wild Side.

I second When Night is Falling. It is a great movie. Also, *beep* Amal (otherwise known as Show Me Love) is also great.

Better than Chocolate may have been a little on the trite side, but honestly I haven't really seen any other films of this sort that were any better. I thought for what it was, it was actually a pretty good movie. And it boasted the only truly erotic lesbian love scene I've ever witnessed. And I'd know, I'm a huge perv. But no, this was really understated. Not at all over the top like the formula I've seen repeated time and time again. Hollywood thinks that lesbians are kinky nymphos. They've got it all wrong. It's the bisexuals who are kinky nymphos.

Better than Chocolate was just okay. I loved "She Hate Me", "Bound" was just on last night(LOVE IT) and "the Incredible Story of..." is fab. and I'm not even an island girl, these are just great movies for real... OH YEAH!
"HIGH ART" is so flippin fantastic!

reply

'"HIGH ART" is so flippin fantastic!'

I have to agree. But I personally hated the ending. For me, it was all that ruined it.

My personal favorite movies of this sort are, and so far remain, But I'm a Cheerleader, Bound, and Better Than Chocolate.

Of course, I'm not going to claim to have seen too many. Just enough to figure out most have disappointing endings for me. I like these happy endings because they give me some hope that things will work out for my own life and relationship. Sounds silly, but...we all have our quirks.

Variety is the spice of life.

The movie, "Bound" with Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly.
