Not what I expected, beware of the hype.

I thought this film was going to be something else, maybe that's where I failed before I even began. All the comments made about the gore have really biased my preconceptions before viewing this film and lead me to no enjoyment.

What I would say to anyone who is looking into watching this is that:

-) Firstly, this is not that gory, I didn't feel the slightest bit dirty or needing showers like one person discribed in their review here on IMDB. It is disturbing however.

-) Anyone looking for a challenge of their limits of tolerance should really look elsewhere, this film was not intended to do so originally and after viewing it, I can say that there are just far more disturbing thing to test yourself against.

-) That leaves the story to entertain. If you are looking for a god story, you may not find one. The plot is simple, which isn't a bad thing , but here, it may bore most.

For a student film this is an exceptional effort, but as with many japanese films, viewers may need to be filled in on certain details about society and historical relevance, which this film is deeply rooted in. Without these, the film can be mind-boggling and ultimately bore.

Spot on. The film is boring, not scary, not "gory," and the leader's girlfriend who takes over the gang is extremely ugly and difficult to look at. This film is only recommended for people who are interested in reading it as a reflection of Japan's social problems. In other words, it's only good for nerds who are determined to find some kind of redeeming value in it in the first place.

The rest of you, who came here 'cause you read on some review site or discussion forum that this film was "disturbing," skip it.

Thirded.

This film is Godawful and not worth checking out for the gore scenes alone as they are reasonably unimpressive (except the shotgun in the pussy scene which was pretty cool).

If you're looking for sick, f#cked up, cheap, Japanese sleaze then check out these titles instead:

Psycho: The Snuff Reels (Tumbling Doll of Flesh)
Guinea Pig: Flower of Flesh and Blood
Guinea Pig: The Devil's Experiment
Entrails of a Beautiful Woman
Eat the Schoolgirl
Naked Blood

I think the scene in which the girl itself herself to death in Naked Blood eclipses this entire film, that said, yes, silly over-long nonsense. Much like this film.

I actually own a legit copy of this flick on DVD (blind buy ), I should re-watch it. It's been quite a few years.

Eat the Schoolgirl is utter trash, but is worth checking out for a few f#cked up depraved scenes and some decent sleaze.
