Norwegians??

A user comment from April 9th 2003 claims that "some of the Disney movies could learn a thing or two from the Norwegians". This is actually a Danish movie... But the Scandinavian countries are apparently hard to tell from one another :) By the way, was this movie an inspiration to "Finding Nemo"?

reply

Hard to tell? Sure Denmark is only 18 times as densely populated as Norway, its population is about 20% larger, it's about a tenth it's size, Denmark is completely flat, Norway is rocky and mountainous, but hey apart from that thay do seem a bit similar.

reply

I take it you're from Norway?

No, I'm not a groupie, I'm a roadie. That's right, girls can be roadies too you know.

reply

Nope, Denmark

Well, it's one of the few good things that came out of Scandinavia, ain't it? Just kidding.

I just adore Scandinavian children literature - H. C. Andersen (although a lot of his work is not really for children), A. Lindgren, T. Jansson... They are the best...

I know my Scandinavian countries quire well! Thought technically I am studying a degree in Scandinavian Studies so I guess that explains it!

Well, seeing as these countries have languages far more similar than for example German to French, it is understandable that most people outside of Scandinavia aren't sure on whether or not Århus is in Denmark or Norway. Of course, some extreme cases as: "Is Norway the capital of Sweden" etc. aren't really excusable, but generally, people aren't that sure when it comes to geography outside of their own continent. I for one am not that certain on countries in Asia and I wouldn't say that I'm particularly bad at geography.

reply

It is common that people think it's the same...and annoying to us who live in scandinavia...danish myself :)

´But okay we have a lot of common history so it's not a complete schocker :)

reply

Yeah, but Norway, Sweden, Iceland, and large parts of Germany have been danish once, so I guess that's why...England has too though. Can't explain that one, except that political and economicly it's becoming more and more scandinavian.

To Lagoni: Jeg kender en som også hedder Lagoni, hvor er du fra i Danmark?

Has Sweden been Danish? Are you sure? I've never heard of that, and I'm Swedish...

reply

Ja, det er forvirrende :)

Men la nå bare amerikanerne tro hva de vil. Vi har det godt her oppe i nord, så.

I'm from skåne, sweden and I was terrified when I heard that half of the people in skåne wants skåne to become danish again. No offence towards danmark but I sure like sweden over danmark. Copenhagen is nice and all but still, I dont think the danish people wants all the foreigners in malmö to "belong" to danmark. It horrible that the most common name in malmö is Mohammed. :O

reply

dk and sweeden have had 22 "official" wars, but denamrk has never counqered entire sweeden.

and when sweeden got skåne, a deal was made that skåne was not to be changed, and become to swedish.
but that did happen and most traces of danish culture was destroyed and the people in skåne wasnt really treated well.

anyway the movie is okay, id say it should get a 6,0-6,5 rating.
