I only watched this because....

of Alan Rickman. As soon as I knew that he was voicing one of the characters I persuaded one of my friends to go and see it with me; very bad idea. I sat surrounded by children (I was 16 at the time)who couldn't sit still for more than about 5 minutes and kept talking, but it was worth it in the end to hear Alan 'singing'.

I did the same thing!
Is it good tho?

reply

LOL! The minute I saw the title of this thread I knew what it was going to say...

yeah. me too. ;-)

Rickman is the yumminess. Vocally, whether speaking OR singing. I was most intrigued to find he can carry a tune. Pity his voice can't be just, you know, bottled. For a quick pick-me-up! hurhurhur

reply

I saw it for Terry Jones!

reply

Want to here him sing again? Go see "Sweeney Todd"!

Yeah, that's the only reason I bought it. I didn't expect it to be good, I just love Alan's voice. $11.56 was totally worth it to hear him speak.

I agree.. with Severus.

My Goooood, Alan is amazing whether he's in live-action or speaking for a tyrannical animated fish....xD I first heard of this movie (and listened to his song) when I was around 15, but I didn't get to see the film until this very day (I'm now 23.) ^o^ Truth is, though, I would've loved the film even if Alan hadn't been in it. :3 Terry Jones was also delightful as the Professor (one of my favorite characters, along with Chuck, Sasha, and Joe), and the rest of the voices were well done too. Sure, it's a bit annoying that they refer to starfish and jellyfish as fishes when they aren't (honestly, all sea creatures are not fishes!), and Chuck probably should've realized that he had the ability to, um, sting adversaries...but yeah...it was still great. :3

The DVD had no bonus materials whatsoever, though. =/ They only divided it up into 8 scenes.
