R.I.P. Richard Griffiths, aka Henry Jay

A brief nod here to the passing of a very fine actor, who will probably be remembered most for the Withnail Uncle Monty cameo, for the role of Hector in The History Boys, and regrettably for those rather vapid Potter vehicles, but sadly NOT for this most excellent piece of half-forgotten '80s television drama.

Bird of Prey was nevertheless Richard Griffiths' first leading screen role, and he carried it off with great aplomb. Great little series, too, and still remarkably fresh after all these years.

He will be much missed.

Hi wordcraft,
Richard Griffiths was a truly great actor and entertainer.
Could I ask if it's possible to get a copy of 'Bird of Prey' series 1 at an affordable price? In other words do you have one or do you know anyone who would be happy to sell me one please?

I think your best bet is to follow one of these searches:
Bird of Prey BBC
Bird of Prey Griffiths

on ebay and look out for auctions. I would say at least for are auctioned annually.
