Am I the only 1 that finds this scene weird?

The scene when they are reading their vows was crazy. He really over did that whole scene. I have seen men fight back a few tears while saying their vows but this brother was about to have a boo hoo breakdown. I've never seen that before. I know that we as the viewers should know why he is carrying on like that but shouldn't that have raised a few red flags to the wedding guest? It looks ridiculous. I've never even seen a woman sob like that during her wedding.

I'm too old to be politically correct, I'm gone be real. Take it or leave it.

LOL..I agree it was a little awkward, but maybe the wedding guest thought he was crying because he was happy=)(happy tears")

I've never seen happy tears lead to a boo hoo breakdown and sobbing like that. That didn't look happy at all. It looked like someone who is being made to do something against their will or like someone who has done something that he deeply regrets and he knows he's in a lot of trouble. Like a child does right before he receives a spanking or like someone begging for his life.

Lance got on my nerves. He was a very emotional man. And I agree with the OP. That was weird when Lance was crying and breaking down like that. And I laughed when they were showing flashbacks of Mia and Harper getting it on and Lance crying like a baby. I did not get it. Mia did not shed one tear. If Lance loved Mia he should have gotten himself together for their wedding instead if carrying on like that. It was clear that Mia and Harper moved on why couldn't Lance. That brother was an emotional trainwreck.

I found it to be comic relief, truthfully.
For the viewers to laugh !

I liked that part.

Wow thanks for saying that. I believe you hit the nail on the head with that statement.

The movie made it obvious. He was in anguish because he was picturing his bride and his best man making love, and he had thought she was this perfect, ideal woman. She did not shed one tear because she didn't have any guilt about what happened. He cheated on her lots, and she got hers one time and let it go.

Okay, we, as the viewers, know why Lance is crying but what about the wedding guest? They aren't suppose to know why he's carrying on like that. What were they suppose to think? Just imagine if you were at an actual wedding and the groom was standing there crying and having a boo hoo breakdown like Lance was doing. Now, wouldn't that raise some red flags or would you just assume that he was just that happy? I mean, that's not normal. Those didn't look like happy tears. It's actually quite ridiculous and unbelievable that a groom would be standing up there crying like he's getting ready to go into the electric chair and spectators not questioning this or finding this strange and unusual.

You should have been at my nephews wedding, he cried the same exact way but we all assumed it was happy tears. I've seen some emotional men in my life so it's not uncommon. Usually cultures that are homophobic are the ones that find it weird.

Maybe you guys need to rewatch that scene to really understand what I'm saying because there is a huge difference between happy tears and what he was doing. Usually people don't carry on like that when they're crying tears of joy. Happy tears are a bit more subtle than what he was doing. Like I've stated, I've never even seen a woman cry like that at her wedding. The only time I've ever seen a grown man cry like that was when somebody died.

Maybe the director wanted it that way so we could feel the character's pain. I certainly did. I've seen plenty of movies, especially Asian movies where scenes were overacted simply to get the audience to connect and it works.
