At a presentation of one of his other movies, director Moland told the audience that the financiers of this movie tried to pressure Moland to cast Alicia Silverstone as the female lead.

He refused... :)

I couldnt imagine Aberdeen without Lena Headey. She shows perfect acting.

Are you kidding me? Alicia Silverstone? A paper bag has more range than she does! The director chose the perfect actress: Lena Headey. A ferious performance. I was just in awe.

Agree with all of you. I simply cannot imagine anyone else in the role - Kaisa has a fiery beauty with the attitude to match. Kidman, Zellwegger, Zeta-Jones, Halle would all have been laughable. The closest person I could see is maybe Naomi Watts but she couldn't match the dark brooding that Lena added to her performance. Lena was just perfect.
