I actually went pretty far, but really, after Mae came in I truly started losing interest (watched a few eps. but not in the double digits). When Brock left that was a sad day, but I didn't mind Tracey too much. Misty leaving did it for me I think, yeah. So...season 5 I ended.
OH! Quick question. When did Gary and Ash go from complete I-hate-your-stinkin'-guts to we-re-sorta-cool-with-each-other-now? I can't remember, but just a thought.
I watched with my eyes on the screen until johto, then i backed off a bit, and when Johto Champions came out, I kinda lost interest, but still watch it if it happened to be on when I came across the channel, and then, just like the rest, after misty left I quit watching the show. I'd still pop in once in awhile, but after ash's balls dropped (voiced by someone besides Veronica Taylor) I totally lost interest. I'm watching digimon now.
Hmm...A lot of people had seemed to have stopped in the Johto League session but that kept be watching even more. I loved the idea of having new pokemon and I was always excited to see the new ones. Johto League wasn't as good as the first season but it was still nice. Pretty much I left around the same time everyone else did, when Misty left. Another reason I left was their constant need to increase the pokemon. Yes, Johto League was a fun season, but what are there now? Over a thousand pokemon? They keep making so many that they're all starting to look the same. There's ten different versions of a pokemon just with a different color, or a spike on its head. It's become ridiculous. I like the original pokemon, I like the Johto pokemon, but after that it crashed and burn so fast. Pokemon is honestly one of those shows that I wish was banned from TV forever now. I turned on the TV the other day and I saw the new pokemon on and it's gotten so atrociously bad I wanted to kill someone.
Half way through the Orange League. It just got annoying. Before all that the show had heart and was oringinal. I have seen a few eps of the newer series and they suck balls. Each episode felt the same.
hmmmz when I was 11,.. hmmz I think it was before misty leaving because, when my nephew was watching it and I saw misty leave some time after in reruns I guess.
Joker:They don't make straitjackets like they used to. I should know.
Quite honestly I can't remember. I know Brock and Misty were still with him, so that counts. However, I didn't resume watching when I knew Brock left, because I thought it was stupid to get rid of him.
I stopped watching during the Johto journey when every episode was the same: Ash and his friends were lost and they find some generic character who had a problem with a new pokemon. Then Team Rocket appears and steal the pokemon and Pikachu. Pikachu is in a special device so he can't do his electricity and they laugh that that was a new trick to stop Pikachu (even though they did a hundred times before). Another one of Ash's pokemon rescue the new pokemon and Pikachu, the generic anime character becomes friends with the new pokemon and Pikachu and the new pokemon blast TR away. Then Ash and the generic anime character talk a bit about how good friends they have become while a happy tune is playing. Then they walk away and the voice over says how they are going to new adventures.
Your post really cracked me up. That´s EXACTLY the way it is. Since the Johto league all episodes are the same.
I stopped watching at the beginning of the 4th season which was mainly because Ash´s voice actress was replaced by a terribly untalented lady where I live. But I guess I didn´t miss out on anything. I saw the episode where Misty left and I guess that´s what it took to make the show completely awful. Plus Ash turning from a normal kid into a superhero who breaks thick metal bars with his hands and defeats everyone including Gary and the really mean and more skilled Team Rocket members. Speaking of Team Rocket, they suck, too
Can't remember if I replied to this or not. I think It was somewhere still in the first season. I religiously watched all episodes till somewhere in the middle of the season, then I probably caught the Indego league in reruns or something. Didn't catch the end of the season until today when I watched it online. I'm planning to rewatch the show online because I don't have money for the DVDs. I KNOW I've seen part of the orange island stuff, because I remember them renaming the 1st elite 4 member in the dub, and going 'wow, well I know that's not her name'.... yeah, they were just starting to go into the gold/silver stuff when I quit. Tracey was with em. I was going through some old VHS tapes and saw that I did indeed see the episode with the crystal onix.
well i thought i went to jojo legue and then i stopped. Why i stopped was because when the series got into space and all of that junk it just lost it's self but i did try to get back to it saw the episode with the talking pokemon and the mew special after that i was done
