this one seems like its a stinker.

It was a stinker. John Huston, in my opinion, did a good job as Noah in his film The Bible.

There was a part-silent Noah's Ark movie made in 1928 that was good, but it no longer exists on video, if it ever did. It's possible to buy tapes or DVDs of it, but they can only be found on Ebay, and were probably made buy taping it off TV. Either TCM or AMC has played it on occasion.
It was a huge production with good special effects, similar to other Biblical epics of that time period.

I'd like to see that documentary In Search of Noah's Ark.

Wasn't there talk about a big screen adaptation, The Passion of the Ark?

Having seen this stinker, I would argue that "Evan Almighty" is actually the best Noah's ark story in film.

The current movie "Noah" is highly speculative at times but much better and far more interesting than this TV movie nonsense.
