Cliffhanger! (no spoilers)

I hadn't seen this in years and recently bought the DVD set. I didn't remember the last few episodes at all because I didn't realize that it ended with a serious cliffhanger. I absolutely hate it when stations cancel shows and think nothing of the fans who supported them. And to end on a cliffhanger like Legacy's sucks so bad. There are 18 episodes. Would it have killed them to end it with at least a two-hour special to wrap up the biggest plot point?

And what's with cancelling it after only 18 episodes anyway? Were the ratings really all that bad? Some shows don't hit their stride until season 2.

I'm not getting invested in any new TV shows. If a show doesn't make it through at least three seasons, I'm not going to bother. The cancelling of Legacy is just one of too many times that I've been disappointed this way.
