Great animated show!

This is a very good program for kids/family. I remember letting my son watch it when he was little, and I would really enjoy it too. There is always some kind of really positive message in each episode.

I collect the episodes now through my DVR/Comcast unit. They play on the Christian channels sometimes, usually late at night, so look for it.

If you want a good quality kids show (not like all the garbage on Nick/Disney/Cartoon Network), then I HIGHLY recommend this show.

It comes from a simpler time, but at the same time its very engrossing. When we have children/reletives over, I put these shows on, and the kids love them.

Also recommended, and from the same era (1980's & Japanese made):
Little Wommen, Superbook, Flying House.

I moved into a new house just a few weeks ago and was so excited to see that Smile of a Child was on the channel lineup... only because it would mean I would get to see WMT Swiss Family Robinson and Little Women (Ai no Wakakusa Monogatari) again! And now both shows have their hooks in me all over again. Nippon Animation is so underrated - so many of their shows for kids are so good, and yet few in America remember or acknowledge them, just because they're not giant-robot shows or action series. The production values on this show are so high I could hardly believe it was as old as it was (it first aired in Japan in 1981).

Actually, you can watch it online for free (and commercial-free). Live streaming is here: http://www.smileofachild.tv/watchOnline_big.php

Swiss Family Robinson airs Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 p.m. Eastern time, and Fridays at 9:30 p.m. Eastern time. Best I can figure, the show is up to episode 46 of 50 (I would imagine 47 would air this evening).

Also, WMT Little Women (Ai no Wakakusa Monogatari) airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10 p.m. and Saturdays at 9:30. The Saturday airings, though, are in a different rotation from the weekday airings. The weekday airings are up to episode 16 (airing this evening).

If you're interested, I also found a website where you can stream all the WMT shows in raw Japanese (I've been watching Ai no Wakakusa Monogatari here and comparing it to the English Tales of Little Women). Will PM you the link.

I also have become a fan of this excellent animated series.

Has anyone else noticed that on the episode "don't abandon the goats", Fritz voice is different than before? It sounds like a different actor voicing fritz. I checked credits, but it didn't indicate a change.
