I just pulled the whole show off the torrents, and even though the original source were VHS tapes and the quality was awful, I fell in love with this show. Watched all 15 eps over the weekend, and now I find myself pining for the original. Why hasn't this been released on DVD yet? It obviously has the cult following, and with the remake coming out soon, you'd think it would be an easy decision.

Then again, it's looking like Bobby Carnival has no hope of measuring up to Jeremy Piven, and the gal they have playing the shrink looks like a generic ice princess with constipation, so maybe they are afraid of the new show looking inferior to the original.

That is what I was just thinking. The original was an amazing show. The remake is kind of good, but no where as near as good as the original. But it has some interesting writing so that helps.

It is a joke this can't be purchased on DVD. In the meantime, try the link above for downloading.

ITA; this is one of the finest shows I ever saw.

Kudos to the cappers for the attempt, but it is horrible video quality. As much as I hate to admit, the reviewings are marred with the fuzzy appearance. I wouldn't show it to my friends who have never seen it to demonstrate what a "great" show it was.

People need to be on the lookout for the old Cupid rerun presentations on obscure cable channels. Then the shows could be recaptured and released in more presentable quality.

Oh, I beg to differ! I've shown the torrents to people, and they agree with me that the audio is more important than the picture quality in this one case, thanks to the wonderful writing and performances.
And I'm actually quite impressed by how few times the image smears out due to tape degradation.
