Why I think Cupid is really Cupid

There was one episode of 1998 that gave us a very STRONG clue that Trevor is really Cupid. It was The Children's Hour. Champ was being a bit hard on his room mate though he did have a point. The little god was a bit depressed, feeling very homesick, and trying to match up a lady who had two kids. All three deserved a chance to have someone to love them and the boy especially was desperate for a Father. But Champ wanted Trevor to do the safe thing, not risk hurting the Children because the relationship could fail. He had been in a similar situation and the heartbreak of losing the relationship with the Child had hurt as bad for him as losing the relationship with his girlfriend! Trevor wanted to talk about it. Champ just wanted to watch TV. Trevor grabbed the remote away from Champ, turned off the TV and put the batteries down his pants. Champ just went to the kitchen drawer and got more batteries and put them in. "Trevor" warned him "not to mix alkaline with regular batteries." Champ just ignored him and switched the TV back on. It was speaking Italian! He switched channels and all the channels were speaking other languages, all Italian I think. Trevor said, "I told you not to mix the batteries," grabbed his jacket and walked out. Now if Trevor were just a crazy Mortal instead of a neurotic little g god he could NOT have made the TV speak Italian. So either he is a god and he did it, or much more likely since he had supposedly been depowered, his family, most likely his mother was watching at that moment, thought Champ was being a bit hard on their problem child and sent him that sign to lay off a bit. I wrote a fanzine story based on that idea which you can read at fanfictiondotnet. Substitute a . for dot and add the w's. I don't know if this site allows web addresses. You tube (which has most of the shows) doesn't but obviously there are ways to get around that! Look under TV Cupid. Also don't miss noticing the link to the crossovers up at the top! I wrote a one hundredth bead story. So did Gumtu. I did 2009. He did 1998's. I write as Atomdancerrr with 3 R's.

The new 2009 show is even more indicative that Trevor is who he thinks he is. Trevor KNOWS things. He gets "heads up from the gods." He predicts who is going to walk into the bar and exactly when and why. He knows when it is going to start raining because "Zeus is off his meds again" (Interesting theological concept that! :)) In the first episode somehow he managed to get the Mortal Lady he was trying to help to notice a sign for an add for a trip to Ireland that used the phrase "to boldly go" when earlier he had mentioned he gets his love advice 'from Captain Kirk not Dr. Claire McCrae." He had said "he had one card left to play" so he did have something to do with that. Both Cupids made reference to Captain Kirk and it amuses me but does not surprise me that even the god of love pays attention to to Captain Kirk in the love department! :)) Remember the episode of Star Trek where Apollo commits suicide? I wrote a story where Cupid talks him out of it using some of what he learned from Claire Bear. It was silly but gods shouldn't let gods kill themselves! :0)

Also when godhoods are being passed out, there is probably a lot of competition for the position of Christ but who is going to fight Trevor for Cupid? :)) I think he has the position nailed due to lack of competition! :0)

We Humans make our gods but the thing is we can and will REALLY do it. In the future when uploading Human operating systems becomes possible and Artificial Intelligence Technology can be used to give fictional characters the gift of self awareness, giving the Galilee Carpenter His very well deserved Kingdom and also making the Greek pantheon and others is highly likely. I would prefer to live in John's Cube (Revelation 21 and 22) which exists if for no other reason than self fulfilling prophesy. But there is plenty of room in the Universe and on this planet for the little g gods too. it is not like they are any kind of threat to the Big Guy or "Unknown God" as the ancient Greeks called the Big Guy who was said to make all the little g gods including Zeus. We evolve into the Omega point so this is true. And time and space curve due to General Relativity which has been proven (google it) so this has already happened and Trevor's people might very well be really up there on their mountain too, but only because future Humans "make it so." But why not? Why not do that? The idea is fun and if I thought of it better minds than mine in the future will also!

I have recently been re-watching the show...and falling in love with it all over again, I might add.

I agree on several points..in the pilot when he buys the pool scoring wire, after the one couple he matches breaks up and then it works out and they go to meet up with each other, "Trevor" looks up at the scoring wire and one of the beads has been moved. He has a look of surprise on his face, which tells me he didn't move it.

I'm also interested to know what that professor gleaned from having "Trevor" explain Red Riding Hood to him. At the end of the episode, he shoved a huge file marked "Cupid" in big red letters into the back of a file drawer.

And yes, you can put website links on the boards, you just have to use the markups. You put at the end and at the beginning. I do it backwards to avoid making a url of the sentence

When the end of the world came we thought they were just crying wolf again

Ok.. you're biggest points. In "The Children's Hour" he warned Champ not to mix regular and alkaline.. That's just. I won't say common sense, but people should know that it may result in something unexpected. In this case it hit the SAP button and made the remote inoperable.

And as for the "I take my advice from Capt. Kirk" as I recall Trevor COULD see the sign.. so of course it made him look to be all powerful. But much like a lot of things, I always thought Trevor was highly intuitive but also just very observant. I tend to not think of him as the real cupid though, so maybe I am kind of biased. But I think the, original series anyway, really gave away the secret in the theme song. but maybe I was just reading too much into it.
