I never saw this show when it originally aired, but now thanks to YOUTUBE.. I am all caught up. I did like the show, but I just could not get past the character of Claire played by Paula Marshall. I thought the character was shrill and unrelenting. At times, I could not believe her arrogance!
All the while, Jeremy Piven was masterful as always, but "she" was just too painful to watch. If they do bring back the series... I suggest they find another, more likable, female lead!
I agree that Claire is arrogant and smug, but that's the reason I liked the third episode so much; she admits to her frailties.
She's not a jerk; she's hiding just the way the people she tries to help are hiding. It's only Trevor's entrance into her life that the turbulence starts changing her.
I don't know about Claire, but I love Paula Marshall and lament her string of failed series. She really deserved better. I was first introduced to her as Barry's artist girlfriend on the 1990 series 'The Flash,' but she disappeared after the pilot and was replaced with Amanda Pays in the hot chick scientist role. I greatly preferred the hotter Marshall.
