I was at the Boingo show the night before this was filmed. This is a magnificent souvenir of that fateful night! However, I can’t help but think the show I saw was actually better then this, their final show. The show I saw was much looser, like it was more fun for the band, and that would make sense, as there would be no lasting document of THAT concert, no CD or video recording.
All that said, this DVD is a Bee-Otch to find, and if you do find it, be prepared to fork over hardcore cash. I bought my copy on VHS the day it came out, and played it till the tape got thin and nearly unwatchable.
I got nostalgic around this past Halloween, and thought I would look up this vid on Amazon, and found one guy prepared to let his DVD go for 80 bucks. Pretty steep, but being a huge Boingo fan for so long, it was worth it. It was a birthday present, from me to me.
One big question I have to ask about these final shows, is why they performed NO songs from “Dark At The End Of The Tunnel”? I thought that album had some great stuff on it, and it wasn’t even touched. :o(
