BBC are often credited for 'The Doors Are Open'

I'd thought it was purely an error in the biography 'No One Here Gets Out Alive' that the BBC were credited for producing this film. That bio. was written in the 1970s, but I've just seen a book printed in 2009 still containing a production credit for BBC.

The only reference I've been able to find is at the British Film Institute :-

which makes no reference at all to the BBC. I'm curious to know if it was originally transmitted on that PBS station.

Is the book is American? then Americans tend to think the British only have one TV station the BBC.It was actually made by another British TV station called Granada.
