Sending an S.O.S. would've been impossible without the radio to transmit it.
S.O.S. was introduced in 1905 by the Germans and was adopted internationally
as a radio distress signal the following year, 1906. How the Water Man would
know it from prior army service is even more unlikely than Carrados knowing it.
