One of the saddest endings of a series....

True that sitcoms usually love a melancholy ending (Friends, The Nanny, etc) but Tom leaving Linda alone in the house in the dark always brings me down.
I know that there were rumors of an intended 4th series that was scuttled due to Dreyfus short stateside visit and Burkes seeming ambivalence at on screen life but even a one off special would be enough to give us hope that these two outcasts find their way back to each other.

i agree, i didn't like the finale at all. it was so abrupt, i didn't feel like it had ended. in my mind, tom would come back after crossroads had been cancelled but we'll never know. the character development even declined rather than got better which made no sense. leaving linda so quickly didn't make for a good ending, it felt that everything they had done together was a waste
