Hi
I wondered if you know whether the dvd s will be remastered . I know there are interviews with Robert Hoffman , but nothing more . Have you any info ? Cheers Andy

Read this review from Amazon.co.uk. Enough is here to answer your question.

Hello all Crusoe fans . Today I finally bought my copy of this classic series, now officialy released, and I have to say I am a little disappointed . All the episodes are there, including episdode one, in original French .So far so good . There is a fine collection of stills from the series, many of them in colour . There is also a series of items ( press reviews , memorabillia , albums, and more pics from the collection of a dedicated fan ( or some connection to Hoffman ) So far so good . There is also an interview with Hoffman himself as the series came out , but beware , I don't think this is a recent interview . I'm guessing this is an interview Robert gave when the original Network VHS tapes were released . ( The blond interviewing him is also quite stunning ) The interview is quite short and I'd have loved some footage of the island, but apparently , it's a concrete jungle now . Another illusion shattered . So far so good . But this is where it all goes wrong . Network HAVE NOT remastered the series . I really hoped they would have spent the time and money on this , but they haven't . Don't get me wrong , it's still great to watch , and the colour menu is great , but the actual episodes are no better than my own pirate copies I bought from ebay years ago . In fact I think my pirate copies are actually sharper . This is the only real flaw .( apart from the fact that I would have liked a recent interview with Hoffman , and a longer one ) . If Network had spent the money and the effort, it would have been perfect , but alas , I can't complain . I've waited all my life for this , on real DVDs ( it's a two disc set by the way ) . At least it will kill the pirate trade , but I'll hang onto my old four disc set for a while yet .
My recommendation ?? Yes , buy it anyway , you know you want to.

It is a disappointment that it's not remastered but give it about 15 minutes as the Lee Paynton's voice and that soundtrack start to work and your'll soon be transported back and away.

Had this series been made in colour I suspect it would still be on TV...maybe the release might wake up someone to its potential still if remastered.
