How close to original text?

Hi, I'm a first year English student who is studying the novel of Robinson Crusoe, and I was wondering how close this version is to the events in the novel as I am thinking about buying a copy of one of the movie adaptations to help with my understanding of the text. So how close is this version? And if not can anyone recommend another version I could get? Thanks!!! :):)
