How old are the majority of today's Thunderbirds TV series fans anyway?

Because it's obvious to any viewer this is a movie aimed at kids, just how strong a following does the Thunderbirds TV series have among kids? And just how many teenagers and adults are fans of the TV series?

From Sales-9'
Age 55 , been a fan since writing back and forth to the studio during the 60's. Used to send me the "Character specification sheets " for the new series in production at the time ! Absolutly blown away when I saw the specs for "Captain Scarlet" Using the correct proportioned puppets. Had to wait nearly two years before that series reached Tasmania , it was worth the wait.
My kids, 27 and 23 are both fans of anything Gerry Andersen too.

don't where you come from but where i come from (the uk) it got a following thats just as big today as it was when it first came out in the early 1960's among kids teenagers and big kids (like myself), i see kids in the street today still wearing the uniform and watching the tv show. just seen the the top 10 dvd rentals and thunderbirds just scraped in at number 8 says a lot about kids today.only two good thing came out of that film, they were the design of the thunderbirds and lady penelope finally getting some action(very well played by sophia myles) i leave you with this point "if it's not broken don't fix it". cheers phil.

Well im 18 and love the old series. I used to watch it in 2000 when bbc started there re runs. I also keep having arguments with my 5 year old next door neighbor. As in no jeff wasn't an actual thun derbird he just sat back and let everyone else do the work. But hey it is opening a new generation to younger kids of the original thunderbirds

I'm 13 and I love Thunderbirds. I never went to see the film because I knew I would end up walking out of the cinema. I haven't seen the film and I don't plan to. By the way. You know that new CGI Captain Scarlet series? They are making a Thunderbirds one. My dad met one of the writers for it. I just hope they keep it like the original.

At the time this movie came out, I was around the thirty mark. I grew up watching the Thunderbirds already in reruns. It was the most AWESOME thing I'd ever seen (and I was a huge Trekkie at the time, too, but this beat Trek by a mile for me).

This movie is a huge letdown for me. HUGE letdown.

My whole family are Thunderbirds fans. My parents are 45 & 46, I'm 20, my brothers are 16 & 13. Then there's my cousins (about half the population of the UK - well, there's a lot of them) ranging from about 4 to about 30. So, yeah, everyone really!

Insolent piece of crockery!

I am nearly 16 and have been a BIG gerry anderson fan as long as i can remember, for thunderbirds (new and old), stingray, and captain scarlet(again, new and old). My brother (19) is the same, and my 45 year old father is also a big fan. After seeing the new film i recently got my cousins into thunderbirds as well (again both new and old) so u cant really say that fans really fall into a specific age catagory. I think anderson work has been and will continue to be adored and admired by people or all ages.

I'm coming up on 46 years old. I've been a TB fan since I was in third grade. My family aren't fans, really, but they watch it and discuss it with me. Since I knew in advance how screwed up the movie was, i found myself not really being able to hate it when I finally saw it. Anyone knowing anything about the CGI Thunderbirds, please sing out!

"How are ya feelin' today, Doc?"
"I'm dyin'. How are you?"
"Pretty much the same"

I'm 17 and love the original series, but I think the movie was an insult to the 1960's series. Personal opinion.

I am 17 and have been a fan since I saw it in 1992 and got all the toys for Christmas.

Equally big fan of scarlet, joe 90 and Stingray.

Not a fan of this movie, which is retarded, patronising and should burn in hell for damaging the Thunderbirds legacy.

One day somebody (me maybe?) will make a Thunderbirds movie, properly, with puppets and I'll put a ban on reviewers using the phrases "no strings attached" and "wooden acting"

Anyhoo.

Go to hell Thunderbirds scriptwriters, Frakes etc!!

Yes,I watch this TV greats when I was 6 in 1966.

i'm 14 years old, i'll be 15 in September. i live in New York. my dad was the one who got me hooked on THUNDERBIRDS and he's 44 years old. i became a THUNDERBIRDS fan earlier this year. this past father's day i got him the mega-box dvd set and i have been stealing the dvds and watching them on my own. i wouldn't call myself a HUGE fan of the old t.v. shows, but i would cal myself a regular fan.

"well, this morning was good, then i got up..."
