Surely this was a comedy horror
The whole things was just weird and funny...plus the ending where she gives birth was just plain LOL
If the makers intended this as some serious scare fest they failed...but as a comedy it wasnt bad

That is a flavor that the Japanese do very well. So well in fact you never know when it is not intentional. My interpretation is that as cruel as the subject matter is, the Japanese realize that it should still be watchable and not over traumatic. That is why we get films like this and Visitor Q out of Japan, and not stuff like A Serbian Film. share
A Serbian Film was funny in places but thats a whole other argument.
The Asians do weird and wtf type movies like no-one else. When they are firing on all cylinders, or most of them, they can produce excellent movies but at other times the movies, particularly horror, just fall into that quickly established cliche of the long haired ghost girl seeking revenge...plus there is also that obsession with suicide which is not a particularly western thing. Its very hard, almost impossible, for a film like Norikos Dinner Table to actually make sense if transplanted to another country...and then you have the South Koreans and revenge movies
